Making a positive impact in the communities where we live and do business is a key priority for AIG. It is our goal to give back to the communities in which we operate in through programmes and partnerships that leverage the skills, experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm of our employees. We are proud of the relief our contributions and efforts are providing.
Through our philanthropic support, we ensure giving in areas where it’s needed most – in communities recovering from disasters, and through initiatives that put individuals and families on the path to good health and self-sufficiency.
AIG’s charitable giving reflects three philanthropic themes; Safety Security & Disaster Relief.
Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust
AIG New Zealand has a long association with the Auckland Rescue Helicopter (ARHT) and proudly provides a significant donation each year to support this organisation’s efforts.
The ARHT plays an important role in the Auckland region, providing the community with the security of a search and rescue service available to them anytime. They are entirely reliant on donations to fund this vital service. To find out more, or to make a donation, click here.
As Official Insurance Partner of the All Blacks and the other New Zealand national rugby teams and a sponsor of USA Rugby, we are proud to be advocates for the communities and charities that they support. In addition to making a $100,000 investment in community initiatives in New Zealand, AIG is also dedicated to supporting projects around the world to introduce the sport of rugby to diverse populations, including special needs and low-income youth, among others.
AIG New Zealand is proud to support Cure Kids and the great work they do to fund research to find cures for life threatening illnesses that affect so many children and their families around the world. Our contributions are not only philanthropic but also include a generous and spirited effort from our employees. And we also offer support through our association with New Zealand Rugby.
Cure Kids funds research to find cures for life-threatening illnesses that affect around one in 30 New Zealand children. Their researchers search for cures for childhood leukaemia and other cancers, heart diseases, cystic fibrosis, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Type 1 diabetes and asthma, among others. These conditions and diseases mean children miss out on a normal childhood, and have to learn far too early in life how to fight to survive.
Cure Kids is the official charity of the New Zealand Rugby Union. For more information about the amazing work of Cure Kids and their researchers, or to donate, click here.
AIG employees are passionate about supporting their communities and give generously of their time, talents, and expertise to important causes both in New Zealand and around the world.
AIG’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Programme supports activities that enhance and serve communities where our employees work, live, and serve our customers. Employees have the opportunity to dedicate two paid days per year to volunteer with qualified charitable organisations and schools to benefit the community at large.
